First is how they treat people who cannot benefit them in any way. Second is how they behave during difficult moments, when patience, honesty, and integrity are truly tested.

A revealing measure of character is how people treat those with little or no social power, such as waiters, cashiers, or delivery drivers. Genuine kindness toward everyone, regardless of status, reflects empathy, humility, and moral strength.
