Prepare the Roast:
Place the beef chuck roast in the bottom of a slow cooker.
Season:
Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix evenly over the roast. Then sprinkle the au jus gravy mix on top.
Add Butter:
Place the butter on top of the seasoned roast. Do not add water — the roast will create its own juices as it cooks.
Slow Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours (or high for 4–5 hours) until the meat is extremely tender and easily shreds with a fork.
